Architizer is delighted to announce the 7th Annual Best of LaCantina Competition, presented in partnership with LaCantina Doors, the leading design and manufacturing company of premium folding, sliding, and swing door systems. Architects and designers are invited to submit their completed or in-progress projects featuring LaCantina Doors for a chance to win prestigious awards and gain significant industry exposure.
Participation in this competition is completely free, with the sole requirement being that your project was completed or conceived within the last six years and incorporates one or more LaCantina products. Start your submission today and ensure it is completed by Midnight PT on September 6, 2024, to be considered:

The 7th Annual Best of LaCantina Competition will celebrate excellence across nine distinct categories:
- Best in Show
- Best Commercial
- Best Rural Residential
- Best Urban Residential
- Best Suburban Residential
- Best Planned Concept
- Best Compact
- Best Renovation
- Most Innovative
Architects and designers can enter their projects into multiple categories that best describe their work, ensuring their efforts receive the recognition they deserve.
New: Introducing the Reader’s Choice Award on Instagram
This season, Architizer is excited to introduce the new Reader’s Choice Award. Tapping into the expert opinions of our vast global community, this award will be given to the project that garners the most votes on Architizer’s Instagram, which boasts some 1.6 million followers. Nominees for the Reader’s Choice Award will be selected from entrants by Architizer’s editorial team.
With the Reader’s Choice accolade being awarded in addition to the nine jury-awarded categories above, this represents a brand new opportunity for participating architects to gain visibility and recognition through the Best of LaCantina competition.

Grand Prize: An Unforgettable Experience
The esteemed “Best in Show” award will again be the highlight of the competition, with the winning designer receiving a Grand Prize Trip for two to the 2025 AIA Conference on Architecture (AIA25) in Boston, June 4-7, 2025. The prize package includes US travel, accommodation, and event passes. Additionally, the “Best in Show” winner will enjoy:
- A featured article and promotion on Architizer.com (see last year’s winning editorial here).
- Publicity across Architizer’s expansive social media network, reaching an audience of over 4.5 million.
- A detailed project write-up on LaCantinaDoors.com.
- Inclusion in LaCantina Doors’ marketing campaigns, including emails, social media, digital ads, brochures, and print ads.
- An exclusive opportunity to join the judges’ panel for the Best of LaCantina 2025 entries.

Every submission will be carefully evaluated by a panel of industry experts, including architects, product designers, and media representatives. This year’s jury panel includes Architizer’s Editor in Chief Paul Keskeys, Real Estate Expert Kelly Ladwig of Zeitlin Sotheby’s International Realty, LaCantina Doors’ Sales Director Josh Coles, and Jillian Bader, Owner and Lead Designer of Modern Nest Homes and Market by Modern Nest.
