Casa Sobral da Lagoa - Bak Gordon Arquitectos

Este proyecto se ubica en una villa rural cerca de la costa oeste de Portugal, y se define como un volumen blanco que llena el vacío entre dos casas existentes. La casa se ubica en Sobral da Lagoa, a unos pocos kilomeros de los resorts y desarrollos nuevos de Óbidos. La villa se caracteriza por las casas unifamiliares blancas con techos de tejas rojas.

La planta de la casa está definida por un espacio residual entre las dos casas, una dando hacia la calle y la otra dando al paisaje.

El nuevo volumen de la casa se asienta junto a las casas adyacentes, tomando la forma del vacío y liberando el resto del terreno hacia la piscina y el garaje.

El programa consiste en una casa unifamiliar perfecta para funcionar como un segundo hogar de vacaciones o una casa permanente para alguien que busca la tranquilidad en el espacio rural.

El volumen de de la casa es en base a dos niveles pintados de blanco en yeso, donde sobresale su particular carácter en relación a sus ventanas de colores, que crean una animada composición en las fachadas.

Mirando hacia el paisaje, la piscina dicta la línea del horizonte y al mismo tiempo funciona como almacenaje y garaje en su espacio inferior, que es por donde mismo uno accede desde el nivel de la calle. A pie, uno puede acceder entre niveles, a media altura del nivel inferior.

Todos los espacios están impregnados de la vista del maravilloso paisaje y de una luz dolor pastel que aparece filtrada y reflejada por las ventanas de colores y sus persianas. Existe una diferencia sensorial entre el exterior e interior, ya que en el interior predomina un acabado más convencional dado por los pisos de madera y los cielos pintados blancos, mientras que en el exterior los espacios son más frescos y naturales.

WORKac to Design Brooklyn Art Facility for Eyebeam

Eyebeam, a non-profit art and technology center currently based in Manhattan, has commissioned WORKac to design its future Brooklyn home. Planned for the corner of Lafayette Avenue and Ashland Place, the new development will not only provide the 27,000 square foot, WORKac-designed cultural space for Eyebeam, but it will also include market-rate and subsidized housing as well as a restaurant designed by Dattner Architects and Bernheimer Architecture.
